Transcript of a letter sent to the Bridlington Free Press "Letters To Linda":- «b»Nurse Recalls 40s Honour«/b» Dear Linda. The Old Potties reunion brought back some lovely memories for me. Miss Jane Potts was commander of the VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment) Red Cross. In the early 1940s I became a member of the youth detachment. She was a very helpful person and was so pleased for me when Dr Gordon Taylor picked me out as the best turned out nurse one evening. I think it was because I was lucky enough to have some grey stockings with seams, hard to get in those days. A couple of names I remember are Jean Fuller and Joan Walkington.
